Weeble & Wobble But Don't Fall Down
Are you feeling a little wobbly lately? Like life is sometimes insurmountable and it’s hard to even breathe? Or maybe it’s like you’re on the highest cliff staring down into the deepest canyon and someone just took away the rail…
This pandemic puts ALL of us through all kinds of tests. Families losing people they love. Children schooling from home. People losing jobs. Seniors, struggling. Economic turmoil. Political upheaval. Tension. Fear. There is suddenly much chaos and uncertainty in our world.
Life can feel out-of-control at times, but there are so many more things we CAN control. The way we rediscover a sense of stability so we don’t feel helpless and hopeless is by creating daily rituals and routines which build a foundation for our lives.
Here are some grounding ideas:
Wake up every morning at the same time three days in a row and begin your day with a short, little prayer, or some meditation, or just a simple thought of gratefulness.
Make your morning coffee or tea a MOMENT. Savor the simple things.
Begin even a modest routine of walking or exercise. When we rest, we rust. Maybe try one of my 30-minute “Mind/Body” life routines on my YouTube Channel for FREE. https://www.youtube.com/user/susanfoxleyyoga
If you have work, be grateful.
If you don’t, know there are companies that are hiring and need someone just like you. Life works best when we take action. Take that first step. Keep looking. Seek and you will find. Tenacity triumphs.
Reframe the events of 2020. Things happen. But not everything happens to US. It’s not about you. Don’t take 2020 personally. Never volunteer to be the victim. Stand taller so others may see you and stand with you.
Stay upbeat. Reach out to friends and family. Helping others helps you more. It does. I know.
Enjoy music and reading again. There is magic in good songs and great books.
Travel to open spaces or national parks. Rediscover the park near your home. Get outdoors.
Stay safe and stay positive. If you’re struggling or just need a little guidance, my “Mixed Up to Fixed Up” monthly online life-coaching workshop will give you several helpful tools to create more purpose and certainty in your life.
The truth is, we’re all feeling a little wobbly right now. But never forget that small ships can withstand the mightiest sea. Trees stand tall in the face of violent storms.
So will you.
Rebuild your foundation and reach out to others. Taking the “I” out of illness and replacing it with “we” gives us wellness. Together, with the help of rituals, routines and each other, we can heal our delicate but resilient planet, one person, one day and one breath at a time.
Remember to always, always, always go where the love is,
Susan
