Conscious Of Your Unconscious
Do you give your best to those you love the most?
The reason I ask is because many of us in our busy daily lives find time to greet and give our best to the many strangers and casual acquaintances we encounter during the day, such as the barista, the clerk or the postal carrier. We smile and exchange good wishes with our co-workers and cohorts and go about our merry ways, then eventually back h-o-m-e.
Home is where our kindnesses should be often and many, but sometimes a challenging day can take its toll and sap our energies. That’s when we need to be conscious of our unconscious. When we come home tired or hungry or our tank is empty, it’s easy to let our guard down. We plop down on the couch, get on our phones and give the leftovers or the crumbs to the ones we love the most… or even to ourselves.
Let’s all be more conscious of our unconscious habits, so we give our best to those we love. Being consistent in the real world and behind closed doors builds trust in all relationships. Choose and strive to be consistent in thoughts, words and actions.
Be one of those “What you see is what you get” people. Consistent. Loving. Emotionally intelligent. Kind. Everywhere. With everyone. Always.
