Tail Wags Dog

“Experience is not what happens to you, it is what you do with what happens to you” -Aldous Huxley

Are you a victim of your surroundings? Can someone’s bad mood easily influence you? Does a delinquent returned call create a feeling of deficiency? Does a cloudy or foggy day create a feeling of being “down in the dumps”? Are you easily hurt by a rude comment from a friend, acquaintance, or family member?

Well, there is a cure for this easy subjection to environmental factors. First of all when you recognize that your environment is affecting you and bringing you off kilter repeat to yourself “tail wags dog”. By saying this mentally to yourself it will create an awareness that your thinking is backwards, and it will bring you back into your own power. You have to recognize that when you truly walk with God, and with your own faith, you will become unshakable. You will no longer become so easily influenced by outside circumstances and attitudes.

Know that you are stronger than your outside circumstances! Believe that you are not a victim of your situation, but that you create your environment by your thoughts, actions, feelings, emotions, faith, and or lack of faith. The outside situation is the effect and YOU ARE THE CAUSE! The secret to having the “dog wag the tail” is to control your mental state. How do you do that? You simply do that by getting into gratitude, appreciation, acceptance, and visualization work.

Sometimes this is easier said than done when the world feels like it is crashing down around you, that you are chasing your tail, doing the same thing over and over again, and getting little results. Well, Do not give up! Know and believe that with God “all things are possible”. Do not give up before the miracle. Keep praying, affirming, getting into action and then leave the results up to God. Remember not to be easily swayed off your path by outside influences. Stay focused and single minded upon faith, belief, and knowing. Most importantly, always keep God as your number one relationship. If you do this indeed “All is coming” as one of my teacher's so eloquently put it!
