What If the Life You’ve Been Waiting For Is Already Here?

A preview from my upcoming book, The Real Love Diet

Most of us spend years waiting for life to begin. Waiting until we find the right person. Until we have more money. Until the kids are grown. Until everything finally feels perfect. I know because I did it too. And one day I realized: life does not wait for perfect. Life is happening right now, in the middle of the mess, the grief, the uncertainty, and the ordinary Wednesday morning.

The Real Love Diet is not a diet about food. It is about what you feed your mind, your heart, and your spirit every single day. Because here is what I have learned after decades of coaching, teaching yoga, and living through the kinds of losses that bring you to your knees: the quality of your life is determined by the quality of your inner conversation. When you change what you say to yourself, everything else slowly begins to change too.

One of my favorite practices is also the simplest. When life squeezes you — and it will — ask yourself one question: Is there an ambulance outside? Is there a fire truck? If the answer is no, take a breath. Feel your feet on the ground. Come back to right now. Because most of what we suffer is not happening in this moment. It is happening in our minds, in the past, in the future, in the story we keep telling ourselves about what everything means. You are having a thousand dollar response to a nickel event. Come back to love.

The Real Love Diet asks one simple question: What would love do now? Not fear. Not perfectionism. Not the voice that says you are not enough. Love. Because love does not control — love trusts. Love does not cling — love flows. Love does not postpone joy until everything is perfect — love finds beauty in the imperfect, the ordinary, the quietly unfolding right now.

You do not have to have it all figured out. You simply have to be willing to take one more loving step. That is the whole practice. That is the whole diet. And I promise you — it works.

The Real Love Diet is coming soon. 💗
