Community Builds Immunity

Study after study shows that community builds immunity..... more than anything else.

In a 75 year Harvard study called the Grant and Glueck study, it tracked the emotional and physical wellbeing of 456 men in Boston from 1939-2014. The results found the #1 thing more than diet, exercise, and genetics was good relationships.

Knowing there are people in your life that have your back is the key to a long and healthy life.

Build a community today to create a longer, healthier and happier life.

Here are some things you can do today to get your vaccination against a lonely and short life.

  1. Join a gym and get to know it’s members. (The pic above are my friends at the local YMCA). One of my friends (above) is 97 years old and he still works out daily.

  2. Volunteer at a homeless shelter. Altruism is a real immune booster.

  3. Turn off social media and see people face to face.

  4. Join a church or 12 step group.

  5. Become a Big Brother or a Big Sister.

  6. Get involved with your neighborhood group, or start one.

  7. Adopt a dog and take daily walks to get to know other pet owners in your area.

  8. Find a hobby and join others who share the same interest.

  9. Find a meetup.com group in your zip code.

  10. Join the Sierra Club for local hikes.

  11. Create a cooking co-op.

  12. Be creative and come up with your own idea of how to connect and build community.

We all crave connection, so get out there and uplift (not only yourself) but others too.

Go ahead and share your biggest gift....YOU! Spread your wellness when creating your community, knowing you are building immunity. Today.
