ONLY TWO EMOTIONS : Real Love Diet ❤️

ONLY TWO EMOTIONS : Real Love Diet ❤️

There is a teaching in A Course in Miracles that has stayed with me… softened me… and quite honestly, saved me from my own reactivity more times than I can count.

It says there are only two emotions: love… or fear.

That's it. Everything else — every flavor of human experience — falls into one of those two.

Anger? Fear.

Sadness? Fear.

Anxiety? Fear.

Jealousy? Fear.

Guilt? Fear.

Shame? Fear.

And when we begin to see this… really see it… something inside us begins to relax. Because suddenly, the world isn't filled with difficult people. It's filled with scared people.

I remember this so clearly with my son. There were moments when he would go from calm… to fifth gear… in seconds. And my first instinct — like many of us — was to meet that fire with fire.

But then something shifted.

Instead of seeing an "angry person," I saw a scared little boy. And everything changed. I would soften, move closer when he was calmer, and gently whisper:

"You are safe. You are loved. You are okay."

Over and over. And I could feel it — his nervous system settling, the storm passing. Because underneath every outburst… was simply fear.

A gentle reframe

When someone lies… they are afraid. When someone judges or criticizes or withdraws… they are afraid. And when we react — we've simply stepped into fear too.

This is the moment the Real Love Diet asks something different of us. Not perfection. But remembrance.

Love is the antidote

If fear is the root… then love is the medicine. Always.

Not fixing. Not controlling. Not analyzing. Just love. Softening instead of hardening. Listening instead of reacting. Seeing instead of judging.

Love dissolves what fear builds. And this is why The Real Love Diet isn't about food or weight or anything external. It's about choosing love, again and again, until it becomes who you are.

The anchor of faith

It's not always easy to choose love in the middle of fear. So we need something steady — an anchor.

For me, it's faith. Faith that the sun will rise again tomorrow. That spring will follow winter, every single time. There is a quiet order to this world, and that same intelligence… is holding you.

Find something you can lean into — a belief, a practice, a rhythm. When life feels like a roller coaster, structure becomes safety. And safety allows faith to return. And faith softens fear.

A practice for today

The next time someone triggers you — pause. And gently ask yourself:

"If this is fear… what would love do right now?"

Then just take one small step in that direction.

You are safe. You are loved. You are okay.

The more you live from that place, the more the world around you begins to reflect it back.

This is the Real Love Diet. And yes — this work, this love, this truth — is powerful enough to change everything.

One more thing…. Always, always, always go where the love is and be the love the world needs right now.
