Get Off Your Mental Freeway
It’s bumper to bumper traffic on the 405 freeway, in your mind, and you are at a standstill. You feel like you are in a parking lot rather than a freeway. The exhaust is strong and your air conditioner is broken. You cannot take it much longer. It feels as if you have been on this freeway, stuck, most of your life. Help!
Most of us have felt that way, at sometime or another in our lives. There is a way out! In our minds, hearts, and souls there exists other highways, side streets and pleasant neighborhoods. We just have to breathe and become patient, and then take the nearest exit to get out of the mental traffic in our minds!
As Albert Einstein so eloquently states, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them". We need to get out of the traffic jams in our minds and ask for help. Do something different, and mix it up a little bit! Maybe we need to seek professional help, take the day off and sit at the river’s edge. Or simply light a candle, sit still and listen for the answer.
Usually, the traffic jam is a pattern of living and thinking that has created deep grooves in our thought patterns. We need to get off the same highway, and shake it up. Do something different in order to get different results.
