Arguing For Your Limitations

Excuses, excuses.

We all hear them. We all make them. Excuses for all the things we can’t, won’t or don’t want to do.

Looking back, I remember having an excuse for just about everything as a single Mom, struggling to make ends meet for me and my young son. Oh, I had plenty of excuses, for why I couldn’t date, change careers, couldn’t travel, take a class, learn to paint…you name it.

I had excuses and I made excuses. I felt stuck and I argued constantly for my limitations.

Then one day I realized that the only real excuse was ME and my limiting THOUGHTS.

What about you? Do you also rationalize or justify what you see as your limitations?

Do you say…

“I can” or “I can’t?”

“I will” or “I won’t?”

“I’m too old” or “I am at the right time and place.”

“There’s no way” or “I’ll find one.”

“I’m not sure” or “Here I go!”

The thing is we have to throw our constraints away. The world will try to seek and expose our limits on its own. Let’s not help it.

Liberate your soul by telling yourself you can be, do or have anything you put your mind too. Be your own cheerleader. Be the best one.

There’s a quote on page 24 of my new life guide, ”Mixed Up to Fixed Up in Four Weeks” that I want to share with you. It reads:

The only things you have to deal with are your thoughts.”

It’s true. YOU get to write the story, so start telling yourself a new one. And keep writing new chapters in your book of life.

Henry Ford was right when he declared, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.”

You. Can. I know it.
