Just Breathe
Mother Nature must be having a hard time breathing lately. After all, our world has been dumping on her for years. Pollution, then Climate Change and now a suffocating pandemic and floundering economy. She’s no doubt feeling it like the rest of us.
She can’t breathe, neither can we and sadly, neither could George Floyd. People everywhere are now literally trying to catch their breath while trying to survive and manage the heaviness of this unprecedented time. Maybe at times you’ve felt it was tough just putting one food ahead of the other, or to just hold on, to something, anything, just to catch our breath, to simply breathe…
Yes, the world is feeling the burden of our times and our actions.
That burden is now on us to fix and here’s how we’re going to do it:
We’re going to focus only on the positive. Here are some positives the COVID has created…
-We’ve been forced to slow down and reduce our hectic schedules…
-Many parents are getting more time to share and bond with their children.
-We’re more grateful for simple things, like a hot shower to wash off the day…
-Many can now work from home, avoiding long commutes…
-Less traffic, less air pollution, clearer skies and cleaner AIR...
-We’re finding new ways to connect with people like never before.
-Families have time to grow closer together. Even birds are singing more. It’s true.
We’ve all had to struggle through these times but the world is still turning and Mother Earth is doing her best to keep us safe. She’s telling us to wash our hands, wear a mask and stay away from strangers. But she also focuses on the good things and so should we. The little joys of life. A daughter’s smile. Seeing Gramps. Putting a good meal on the table every night. Cuddling with your honey. A pretty flower. A regular paycheck. A healthy walk…
You get the idea. Those little things aren’t so little and we can build from them. Maybe that’s what Mother Earth is trying to tell us. Maybe this is her wake-up call. A reminder to wake-up and pay attention to our families, friends and neighbors, our cities, our country, our government, our environment and our beautiful Mother Earth.
Take a good, deep breath now and feel the vitality and energy that has changed the world before and will help us do so again. Just breathe. Take a breather. Get some air.
Mom will be overjoyed!
