Why We Fail

Have you ever had someone tell you the most random thing but for some reason it just stuck with you and you couldn’t stop thinking about it?

It happened to me one Monday afternoon while coaching one of my clients. At the time my world had been turning a little faster than usual. I’d been so wrapped up with work, clients, writing, teaching yoga, and my young son who needed a lot of attention, it seemed like I never had even a minute just for me. My well-meaning client looked at me with that sort of half-smile she has and said, “Susan, you really need to get out a little. Go on a date, have a little fun. I don’t want you to be a spinster. You’ve been single way too long.”

It hit me right in the heart. She was right. I WAS working too much. I RARELY went out. Having fun wasn’t even on my radar. I hadn’t had a social life, let alone a romantic one, in a long time. It just wasn’t my focus. I didn’t have time. Here I was, urging people to find more time for the people and things that matter most in their lives and I was doing the opposite. I made time for everyone but me. I was the shoe shiner with no shoes.

It was time to practice what I preach. I DID want someone special in my life. Being a Mom is wonderful but so is being IN LOVE. I’d just put it out of my mind or hid it somewhere. Now I’d have to pull it out and get rid of my doubts. I’d been teaching visualization and manifestation and what I call the “endgame” in my workshops and with clients. It was time to use these tools on myself.

Here are the steps:

1.      Sit comfortably in a chair and write a thank you letter to your Creator, God, Universe or Higher Power. Write a thank you letter assuming your wish has already been fulfilled now.

2.      Close your eyes and focus on your breath and get into a dreamy and relaxed state. Almost as if you were about to fall asleep.

3.      Consistency and persistently fill your consciousness with imaging yourself BEING what you want to be or having what you desire. See it. Feel it. Smell it. Taste it. Touch it. Sense it. Make sure it is right HERE, right NOW.

4.      Marinade using your vivid imagination FEELING as if your manifestation has already come to fruition. This can take just 5-10 minutes in the morning.

5.      Now it’s time to get up from your visualization/prayer and continue your day/ days with faith as if it’s already happened! Dance and celebrate in your car, dance in the kitchen cooking dinner or sing in the shower. Your manifestation is here! The elevated emotions will magnetize the experience much quicker!

If you’ve practiced this without results… it’s because sometimes when we use our imagination, it doesn’t feel REAL or POSSIBLE. It has to FEEL real and FEEL right. And you need to focus on it daily. If you say you don’t have time, you won’t have time. If you don’t have a focus, you lose focus. And if you don’t make it happen, it won’t just happen.

Let me put it another way…

The fact that it doesn’t feel natural IS the reason it doesn’t happen. You have to feel it and want it – Plant the seeds with your thoughts. Regardless of how faithfully and diligently you practice the above steps, if it doesn’t FEEL NATURAL, it won’t happen. Break down your visualization into smaller pieces if it feels too far away. Start with smaller intentions daily and then build upon those.

Let me remind you again, If it doesn’t feel REAL that is why we FAIL at NOT manifesting our desired wishes.

Use your imagination and repeat the steps until it FEELS REAL. That's the secret for success. At least it worked for me. I’m no longer a “spinster” and am happily married. And I am beyond grateful for all my clients who’ve practice these steps and have experienced similar miracles.

Never ever give up on your dreams. It’s your birthright to thrive. You deserve love. You deserve the life you dream of. Now FEEL it, go get it, then tell me all about it…
