Unfortunately, you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, after sleeping through the alarm clock. The kids miss the bus and you accidentally spill coffee on your crisp white shirt. The day has gotten off to an awful beginning. As you continue thru the day, things get a lot worse if you don’t change the direction of your thoughts, feelings, choices, and behaviors.
One of my favorite teachers, Ester Hicks, talks a lot about momentum and once something gathers speed it is very difficult to stop the thoughts, feelings, and actions when they are in full force.
Let’s say you are sledding down a steep mountain and there is quite a bit of velocity as you go downhill. To have your sled come to a standstill, it is going to take an immense amount of effort. Once we gather speed with our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors whether positive or negative it is hard to break that force.
The good news is that if you are accelerating on the gas pedal with positive news, great health, gratitude, and love you don’t need to step on the brakes. Just full throttle ahead. If you are driving with a tempo of illness, poverty, and lonely thoughts, you better slow down, block your momentum, and head in the other direction with purpose and focus fast!
In other words, accelerate, speed and move towards the direction you want to go.
Stop, halt and do a 180 to get out of the area that potentially has a warning sign for that unforeseen avalanche headed your way!
Propel yourself into thoughts, feelings, and actions that catapult you into a life where you are going 100 m.p.h. into a life of your dreams. Keep moving while gathering that momentum in the direction with your intention swiftly.
In summation, if you find yourself driving your kids to school after they missed the bus and you’ve changed your coffee stained blouse, then turn on your favorite music and dance and sing with your kids in the car. Enjoy the momentum of the laughter, the smiles, the connection, the bright morning sun coming in through the windshield, kissing you good morning. Keep rolling, keep rolling and keep rolling in your positive direction and your life will rapidly change into your majestic destination.
Namaste. Please share if you enjoyed this blog.
So you are on the river’s edge, walking barefoot on jagged rocks, with bloody feet, and you are balancing a canoe on top of your head. You are pushing, shoving, and forced to walk to your destination, because you were taught the bigger the struggle, the more you will get somewhere. Then a thought occurs to you and you decide if you will walk a little to the right and flip the canoe over and place it in the water, you could rest your weary bones.
The advice above from Life Coach Michael Neill offers a simple lesson in how to make life easier. What a relief to finally let go of the heavy canoes we carry. You clean your bloody feet and lay back and stare at the Aspen trees with their leaves fluttering in the breeze. You witness the sunlight’s reflection on the water and watch the deer stare at you intensely as you float by. With amazement you watch two birds build a nest together above your head. The sky has never looked more blue. The breeze has never felt more amazing on your face and in your hair. You feel ecstatic.
As you witness and watch the smells, colors, sounds, and sensations you realize that by just walking a little to the left or the right, everything can change. Just one small step or redirection is all it takes.
By dipping into the Universe’s resources like the flow of a river, and choosing to go with the current instead of fighting it, is all it takes. You can also invite the fresh air to renew, re-energize, and recalibrate your very existence. How about using the canoe to rest your fatigued body, while the river does the work. Surrender and literally lean into the immense fortune your Creator has in store for you.
My point is that when we struggle, strive, and strain we may be doing more harm than good to our body, mind and soul. Instead, take a little step to the right or left and drench yourself in the resources that are probably right under your nose.
When you feel all alone on the jagged rocks of life, parched by defeat and thirsty for inspiration, alone, just look above, below, and around and witness the wonders unfolding all around you.
You smell putrid, rancid, and I can barely stand to be next to you. You smell of judgement and fear. Your emotions are written all over your face, and the toxic thoughts and feelings are coming out of every pore. It may be time to throw away those poisonous thoughts.
Are you rehearsing in your mind how you were wronged, manipulated, or used by someone? How about the fact that felt you were dealt a crappy hand of cards in this lifetime? Are you constantly beating yourself up and blaming and shaming yourself? Well, it’s time to take out the mental garbage!
Write down all your past resentments, judgments, disappointments, and regrets and share them with someone (if you wish). After that, rip the list up into tiny pieces, while saying a small prayer to let them go. Then literally put those pieces of paper into a trashcan and stick them out on your curb or alley. Let them go forever.
Don’t leave the trash in your mind to smell. Take it out, for keeps.
How many times have you taken your physical trash outside to the curb, and then taken it back inside to sift through and analyze? My guess is that you have never done that. That is just simply disgusting, right? Then why do we do that with our mental garbage?
It is time to get rid of the curdled and outdated cartons of detrimental thoughts. Throw away with conviction, empty containers, wrappers, and expired thoughts from the past. Clean up your mind by throwing away that mental trash.
The negative thought owns you, until you own it. Admit that your mental house smells foul. Take responsibility for the piece of litter in your mind and know you have the power to change your decomposing thinking. No one can do it for you. Don’t deny or argue for the trash, just throw it out.
Clean up your thoughts and you will open yourself up to a sparkly, clear, and present mind. Freshly stocked ingredients will be yours to cook up a better existence that will deliciously amaze you.
In disposing of your repugnant thoughts, you will smell divine, and people will surround you like flies on honey, as opposed to vinegar. What scent would you like to emit from your soul out into the world?
For heavens sake, take your smelly garbage out. And LEAVE it there!
