Combining several modalities in one session of yoga creates balance for the body, mind, and spirit. I can take you through asana with detail, precision, and without rigidity. Being playful with an enthusiastic, outgoing style of teaching, using ujjayi breath, props, music, and lots of positive affirmations is what I enjoy. I gently push students to an edge that is comfortable and safe. Incorporating standing poses, forward bends, back-bends, twists, and inversions with my expertise and knowledge will make your body sing and your soul soar. My life coaching skills, yoga wisdom, and therapeutic massage in one session will enhance you mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, making you Foxley fit!

A Little More about Me My Philosophy
I've been teaching yoga/meditation, practicing therapeutic bodywork and life coaching for over two decades in San Francisco and Santa Monica. When teaching, I incorporate Ashtanga, Iyengar and Desikachar methods into a package that both challenges and respects the individual’s personal needs. I've taught and coached people from eight to 80 years old to their specific level of expertise and stage in life. While teaching yoga, Susan uses intuition, kindness and compassion for an unforgettable experience. I focus on the positive while maintaining a sense of playfulness and depth with each breath. Our session will maintain a constant lightness of being in a non-judgmental environment, so you can explore and succeed. I'm inspired by and have studied with... Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Nancy Gilgoff, Richard Freeman, Larry Schultz, Louise Hay, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Tim Miller, Chuck Miller, Eric Schiffman, Chad Hamrin, Ana Forest, and others. I completed Yogaworks teacher training with Maty Ezraty and Lisa Walford.
Mom, Yoga Teacher, Life Coach, Bodyworker, Lover of Life
Born in Omaha, Nebraska with nine siblings, and an identical twin, created a rich beginning, on this colorful journey called life. After living in the midwest, Susan Foxley's mother divorced and moved all of her siblings to Providence, Rhode Island. She lived there until high school. From there Susan moved to Denver, Colorado with her father, a cattleman, and stayed there until moving to San Francisco for college.
In San Francisco, Susan Foxley discovered yoga. Susan's identical twin sister, Jennifer, took her to my first yoga class in the lower Haight. Susan's twin followed the Iyengar yoga system, while Susan chased the Ashtanga method. This all happened in the late 1980‘s. They both embarked upon a yogic path, and became vegans and health nuts. Jennifer continued to visit Pune, India. Meanwhile, Susan visited Mysore, India, to study with her teacher, Sri Pattabhi Jois.
Teaching yoga, in San Francisco, after living in Maui, was an exciting time. Susan loved teaching and practicing, and couldn’t get enough of it. It can be reflected in her passionate and enthusiastic teaching style.
After getting married to a Bikram yogi, Susan moved down to Los Angeles, where they had their son Benjamin. Susan's husband suddenly passed away, when her son was about two and a half years old. Her life took a turn for the worst; trying to balance raising a toddler with special needs, teaching yoga, and doing therapeutic massage. Those were very tough years, but her practice and prayer, got her through it and led her life coaching and creating workshops called,"Mixed Up To Fixed Up".
Because of needing more flexibility in Susan's schedule aa a single parent she began teaching private clients. Her students were now more mature woman and men with challenges; such as arthritis, sciatica, and lower back issues. She began to customize private sessions that included massage, yoga, and life coaching. It was a divine evolution. Prayer, touch, and asana created a perfect trifecta.
The trials and tribulations Susan has been through, have made her who she is today. She wouldn’t change a thing. The suffering she has experienced is Universal. Everyone has their own pain, and if Susan can share some tools she has picked up along the way to help others, with her various modalities, then she feels deeply honored.
Currently, Susan lives in Santa Monica, California, and has been teaching yoga for over two decades, leads life coaching workshops, and hosts two yoga television shows, 'Forever Yoga' and 'Yoga For All Ages.'. Susan's life is filled with deep contentment, with a wonderful remarriage, a thriving son, incredible friends, clients and a rich life. Susan Foxley says " Life could not be better. I owe it all to God, the ancient system of yoga, and to the teachers and mentors that have shared their wisdom. Thank you all with deep gratitude."
Thank you for visiting her site and we look forward to hearing from you. Namaste.
